The Urbanite
A narrow-lot design that doesn't compromise on natural light.
Indicative concept
We shape the layout around your block and your brief, and quote each project on its own.
Built for narrow blocks, where the usual problem is a long dark middle. Light is brought in from above and from the ends rather than the sides, so the centre of the house does not depend on windows facing a neighbour's wall a metre away.
Well suited to
- Narrow infill blocks in established suburbs
- Sites with tight side setbacks, where side windows are not worth much
- Knockdown rebuilds on an original, narrow subdivision
How a concept becomes your home
It starts with your block
Orientation, fall, width and easements decide what will actually fit. We read the land first and then work out which concept suits it — including telling you when one doesn't.
The plans are drawn properly
Working drawings come from independent design practices. We'll introduce you to one we work alongside, or build from drawings you already hold.
Then the price is fixed
Inclusions itemised and locked in before we break ground, with site costs, connections and council fees in the contract rather than left as estimates.
